Weekly Dinner Plan 3/01/10 – 3/07/10

Dinner planning for this week comes from the February 2010 issue of Parenting magazine. It is “supposed” to start on a Sunday with the Turkey Loaf that I planned to make in my last weekly dinner plan…but we went out to a fundraiser dinner on Sunday night instead. So, I’m making everything one day later. Flexibility is key for chic mamas!

Sides: Potatoes; Carrots

Tuesday 3/02/10
Pasta with Meat Sauce (crumble leftover meatloaf into marinara sauce)
Sides: Garden Salad; Baguette w/ Baby Creamed Spinach (recipe from Hungry Monkey book)

Wednesday 3/3/10

Side: Corn; Rice

Thursday 3/4/10
Lemon Chicken Breasts

Snow Day Scones

We had a snow day today in NY! So, I didn’t have to go to work. I decided to have some baking fun with my toddler. I found this recipe for scones on Giada’s website for Valentine’s Day (I can’t find it today though), but I didn’t get a chance to make them until today.

Making Strawberry Rosemary Scones with a Toddler

Pouring & Tasting (yum…butter!):

They actually turned out to be more cookie-like than scone-like:

I really liked the rosemary flavor and the strawberry jam was also a delicious addition. Toddler-approved as well! They are already half gone…

Movie Review – What Happens in Vegas

Vegas

What Happens in Vegas:

I checked this Blu-Ray out from the library (our library has blu-ray discs…check yours!) and here are my thoughts:

I *always* love Cameron Diaz (so I am biased)
Ashton is cute
I LOL’d a few times
The story line was sweet and interesting
The clothes worn by Cameron’s character were beautiful

Overall Chic Mama Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Because this is my first movie review, I feel the need for a disclaimer: I *hate* almost all violent, thriller, horror type movies. So, that somewhat limits the types of movies that I watch. I love comedies and lighthearted movies. I sometimes watch dramas, but life is too short to watch movies that are depressing and disturbing!
